Jane Street Shooting
Police are searching for as many as four suspects after a man was shot outside a Jane Street apartment building early Sunday morning.
It happened around 3:30am in front of a highrise at Jane and Wilson.
Bullets pierced the front windows of the lobby and shell casings were found in front of the complex.
The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital and underwent surgery for bullet wounds to the buttocks and he’s expected to recover.
Police are still trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
Police Search For Sex Assault Suspect
There’s concern a serial sex offender may be loose after two attacks in Etobicoke Saturday.
A woman was attacked around 12:30am while she was walking near Bloor and The East Mall.
Less than an hour later, a man with a similar description attacked another woman near Burnhamthorpe and The West Mall.
Police say they’re looking for a white man in his 20s, about 5’8″ or 5’9″, with a thin build. He has spiky blond hair and was wearing a dark green or grey hooded sweatshirt.
Call the Toronto Police Sex Crimes Unit at (416) 808-7474 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS if you have any information that could help detectives.
Disturbing Discovery
A man made an awful discovery early Sunday morning when he found his 82-year-old mother dead in a pool at a North York home.
He spotted the body just before 2am in a pool on Abbeywood Trail, in the York Mills and Leslie area.
Police say foul play is not suspected and an autopsy was scheduled later Sunday morning to determine the cause of death.
This is the third drowning in the GTA this weekend.
The body of a 16-year-old boy was pulled from a swimming pool at a west end apartment Friday night and an 83-year-old Burlington woman died in hospital Friday – a day after she fell into a backyard pool.
Frightening Fall
A man is in hospital with serious injuries after falling four storeys from a balcony in Burlington.
It happened early Saturday and police won’t divulge details of the events that led up to the plunge, but neighbours say the man may have been trying to avoid a confrontation in the apartment and took a wrong step.
