Michael Jackson Sued By Ex-Wife

Debbie Rowe is suing the singer, claiming he hasn’t provided the funds he promised in their 1999 divorce settlement.

The lawsuit was filed in a Los Angeles court on July 3 and it claims Jackson stopped making payments to Rowe in October 2003. When the pair split, the singer promised to give his ex-wife $1 million a year for three years, and then $750,000 annually for the next six years.

Rowe, the mother of Jackson’s nine-year-old son Prince Michael Joseph Jackson and eight-year-old daughter Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, also received a house in Beverly Hills and a 1998 model SUV in the deal.

Jackson kept his Neverland Ranch and two other Santa Barbara properties, commercial properties and a fleet of vehicles that includes two fire trucks, three vintage Rolls Royces, four tractors and nine golf carts.

In the suit, Rowe is asking for an immediate payment of $195,000 for legal fees and $50,000 in living expenses. She says she needs the funds so she can continue her child custody case against Jackson.

Rowe gave up her parental rights in the divorce, but decided to get them back when the pop star was arrested on child molestation charges in 2003. In the divorce settlement she agreed to only visit her children once every 45 days.

The next court hearing for this case is scheduled for July 26.
