Police continued their assiduous search for missing 12-year-old Akeara Flett on Wednesday night, combing her neighbourhod and sifting through the woods near her house to no avail.
Flett went missing Tuesday morning and was last seen near Kingston and Morningside Ave.
Police say the 12-year-old had an argument with her mother inside their Scarborough home sometime on Tuesday morning. A few hours later her mother noticed she was missing.
Police have issued a public appeal about the case and have been joined by another concerned party – her desperate mother.
“If you see this, I just want to tell you I’m not mad at you,” pleads Vanessa Regular. “I’m not mad. I love you. I just want to hold you and hug you and I just want you home safe in my arms.”
“If there’s somebody out there, please don’t hurt our baby.”
Police are understandably concerned for her well-being.
“She’s a 12-year-old. I don’t care how streetwise a 12-year-old thinks they are. They’re still a 12-year-old, and she’s also vulnerable,” said Supt. Paul Gottschalk.
“We haven’t gone to an Amber Alert primarily because.we have no evidence of foul play. We believe at this time that she has run away.”
Flett is described as:
- White,
- 5′,
- 140-160 pounds,
- Brown hair with red highlights,
- Tanned complexion,
- Small scar on her forehead.
She was wearing a blue and white striped shirt, black pants and pink and white Nike runners.
