Nik Antropov made the most of a sudden promotion to the first line on Monday night, scoring the game winning goal for the Leafs, who downed the rapidly withering Philadelphia Flyers 4-1 at the A.C.C.
Antropov potted the winner at 7:18 of the third period on the power play, picking up the puck during a mad scramble in front of the net and swatting it past Flyers netminder Antero Niittymaki.
Bates Battaglia scored Toronto’s first goal and Alexei Ponikarovsky and Tomas Kaberle completed the scoring.
Kaberle, who rifled the puck into an empty net late in the third, continued his impressive offensive output, helping to lift the Buds to their fifth win in six games.
Andrew Raycroft had an impressive outing, stopping 40 shots to keep Toronto in the game when the Flyers put on the pressure in the second.
Ben Eager scored the lone goal for Philly, who sit dead last in the NHL with just seven points.
