Raptors Edge 76ers After Bosh Sinks Three-Pointer

Allen Iverson put on another brilliant offensive display on Wednesday night, scoring 35 points to add to his league-leading statistics.   Despite his prolific output, the 76ers couldn’t topple the Toronto Raptors, who edged Philadelphia 106-104.

Chris Bosh proved to be the hero for the Raptors, connecting on a colossal three-pointer with just 6.1 seconds left to propel Toronto to victory.

“As soon as I let it go I knew it was in though,” Bosh said afterwards.

“We just kept our tempo tonight, that’s what I’m proud about,” Bosh said. “Even though they scored, we didn’t hang our heads, we just got the ball out and kept running and got some easy baskets instead of having to work for it.”

The Raptor star finished the evening with an impressive 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead Toronto.   The Raptors had a good all around team effort, with five players scoring in the double digits — Joey Graham had 16, Fred Jones 13, and Morris Peterson and T.J. Ford had 11 each.

“We wanted Chris to get the ball but obviously not at halfcourt,” said Raptors coach Sam Mitchell.

“Chris Bosh, words can’t describe how he’s playing and the challenge he’s taking. The scary thing is, he’s 22 years old.”
