Call her America’s Next Mop Model.
Naomi Campbell is paying the price for her diva ways.
The supermodel reported to a different kind of runway Monday – the one tended by the New York City Department of Sanitation.
Campbell was ordered to act as a kind of maid for the Big Apple, after she pleaded guilty to hitting a housekeeper with a cell phone in a fit of rage last January.
The leggy lady apparently went into a lather over a missing pair of jeans and hurled the mobile device at Ana Scolavino. The phone hit the cleaner in the back of the head and she required medical attention to treat the injury.
Campbell was fined the $363 in hospital costs for her temper tantrum and ordered to perform the clean-up community service as a penalty.
She’ll spend five days carrying out the sentence, although a judge did allow the celebrity to do her penance indoors, away from the prying eyes of cameras.
She’ll also have to attend two days worth of anger management counselling.
The 36-year-old arrived at the Manhattan pier Monday morning wearing stiletto boots and sunglasses (top left), rushing past waiting news people to begin her chore.
She was toting a second set of shoes over her shoulder – a pair of sturdy-looking dark work boots.
Campbell’s anger and attitude has gotten her into trouble before. But this is the first time she’s been made to pay for it in such a humiliating and public way.
The last celebrity to go from the penthouse to the proverbial outhouse was Boy George.
The former Culture Club lead singer was also forced to do some clean up for the city that never sleeps a year ago this month, after being found guilty of falsely reporting a burglary.
Cops who went to investigate his report found coke in his home instead.
