Raptors Edge Magic

The Toronto Raptors snapped their two-game losing skid with a hard-fought 92-85 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

Chris Bosh led Toronto with 34 points and 16 rebounds while T.J. Ford added 16 points and 12 assists.

“We’re trying to win basketball games, and your better players have got to play more minutes at this time of the season and into the playoffs,” said Raptors coach Sam Mitchell.

“It was a beautiful game because we won, we made a lot of mistakes, we didn’t shoot the ball well,” he added. “We won the game playing defence and rebounding, something we’ve had problems with.”

Juan Dixon finished with 14 points for the Raptors, who were playing short-handed.   Andrea Bargnani spent the night in hospital recovering from an appendectomy performed early Wednesday morning, and Anthony Parker and Jose Calderon were also on the sidelines.

“We’ve got a deep roster, it’s something we’ve talked about all year,” said Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo. “I think again, with the right approach and right focus, take it one game at a time, lay it all out there and try to get ready for the playoffs.”

Grant Hill led the way for the Magic, scoring 24 points while Dwight Howard added 17.
