The search for a missing Alzheimer’s patient in Pickering has ended in the worst way possible.
Kam Cheng, a 78-year-old woman who went missing from her home on Highway 7 and Locust Hill around 4pm Saturday, was found dead less than 24 hours later along a tree line about one kilometre away.
An intense search Saturday night failed to turn up any sign of the elderly woman. Her body was found just before 1pm Sunday.
Police say this wasn’t the first time the elderly woman went missing.
Few additional details surrounding Cheng’s death are available.
