For the second time in less than a week police have been called to Kennedy subway station to investigate a violent incident.
Witnesses saw a 16-year-old boy knifed on the bus platform at about 11:30pm Wednesday night. He suffered a stab wound to the back during a fight with several people. Fortunately his injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.
Police are looking for information from anyone who saw the confrontation, and they’re apparently hunting three suspects who fled the scene.
The overnight attack follows last Friday’s deadly stabbing of a 21-year-old man, who was discovered on a train at Kennedy station. Nick Brown was found inside a subway car after being attacked. He succumbed to his injuries. Police are looking to speak with witnesses in that case as well.
The violence is making transit users who take that subway line nervous.
“(I) come home at this time pretty much every night, so yeah, it is a matter of concern, said Miad Ali.
John Coins, agreed, saying, “More and more trouble is happening right now, so it kind of risks the safety of everybody.”
Anyone with information in either case can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
