Walking Taller

Maybe you’ve heard of men in tights, but a massive crowd of men in heels isn’t exactly something you see every day, especially in a group of several hundred. But you may have caught a glimpse of the pumped-up hoard if you were on campus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee recently, where hundreds of men literally walked a mile in women’s shoes as part of an effort to raise awareness and funds in the fight against domestic violence.

The men were given an option: trade in the high heels for flip flops at the quarter-mile mark at the cost of a $10 donation, but many of the guys, including Jeff Sherman, stuck with the uncomfortable heels the entire way. He says his wife walked beside him, laughing with every step.
