Frank Thomas was picked up in the off-season to provide timely power and he did just that on Thursday night, blasting his 493 rd career homer to help the Toronto Blue Jays rally to beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-4.
The milestone blast puts Thomas 21 st on the all-time career homer list, tied with Lou Gehrig and Fred McGriff.
The Jays were trailing 4-2 when Thomas sauntered up to the plate in the seventh and launched the ball into orbit.
The Jays evened things up the eighth, setting the stage for Alex Rios‘ 10 th homer that ultimately decided the hard fought contest.
