Courtroom Romance

It was hardly a courtroom drama.

Pat Benatar suggested “love is a battlefield,” but for one New York couple it was more like a courtroom.

When Traci Nagy and Jonathan Cinkay reported for jury duty at a New York murder trial, they probably didn’t think it would be them that would end up serving a life sentence.

But they picked up their marriage license last week, and after meeting during the pursuit of justice, the justice that presided over the case is set to marry them next month.

Not bad considering their first “date” was during a long break. But they had plenty of time to get to know each other, and since jurors aren’t supposed to talk about the case during the trial the conversation was completely focused on each other.

And while the pair were falling in love, there was no for the defendant. He was convicted.
