Derek Roy made Sabres fans forget all about the departures of captain Chris Drury and offensive star Daniel Briere on Wednesday night, scoring three goals and three assists to lead Buffalo to a commanding 7-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs in pre-season action.

Henrik Tallinder, Drew Stafford, Jason Pominville and Thomas Vanek also scored in the embarrassingly one-sided game.

Pavel Kubina and Chad Kilger replied for red-faced Leafs.

Leafs goalie Vesa Toskala had a truly horrible outing for Toronto, while Ryan Miller was virtually unbeatable between the pipes for the Sabres.
