Toronto Police Hope YouTube Video Helps Solve Thanksgiving Day Murder

Toronto Police have taken to the net in their hunt for a killer. They’re hoping a video they posted on YouTube will help them solve the murder of Keegan Allen.

The 18-year-old was shot inside the Hungarian House in the Bathurst and St. Clair area on Thanksgiving Day during a reggae-hip hop dance contest. Authorities estimated there were about 800 people inside the venue at the time of the shooting.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Allen lying on the dance floor unconscious and suffering from a fatal gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to hospital where he was put on life support and succumbed to his injuries two days later.

In the video, Toronto Homicide Squad Sgt. Frank Skubic makes a plea for anybody who saw anything on the night of the tragedy to come forward and help officials with the investigation. “We cannot solve this, our any other senseless killing, without the help of the community. We need witnesses to come forward and provide us with the evidence required to bring these killers to justice,” he said.

If you have any information, call the Homicide Squad at (416) 808-1304 or Crime Stoppers at (416) 222-TIPS.
