A second man has been charged in the death of RCMP Constable Christopher John Worden.
Jarred Nagle was arrested at the same time as Emrah Bulatci, who faces one charge of first-degree murder. Nagle was charged with accessory to the fact after murder. The 21-year-old Edmonton man will appear in court in Edmonton on Monday.
A third person was arrested with Nagle and Bulatci, but was released without charges.
The arrests came after a nearly eight-hour long stand-off. Edmonton city police surrounded a house in South Callingwood, Alberta on Saturday. Nagle and the unnamed suspect surrendered at approximately 1:30 pm. Bulatci came out hours later, about 5:00 pm. Police were wearing body armour and carrying automatic weapons during the stand-off.
Bulatci had been on the run since October 6. On that date, Cst. Worden was killed while responding to a call for police assistance. Cst Worden had responded alone. His death has sparked an inquiry into RCMP procedures.
