Lassie The Tabby

A Prince Albert, Saskatchewan cat named Cuddles can do a pretty good Lassie impression, and her human family is certainly appreciative of it.

Twelve-year-old Jennifer Powder says the black and white tabby got her attention over the weekend by growling and meowing while staring up at the fireplace. When the girl investigated she heard a crackling noise coming from the fireplace, then saw smoke and flame.

She ran to alert her mom, dad and brother, who were getting ready for bed, and everyone quickly got out of the home safely, including Cuddles.

By the time firefighters had arrived and snuffed the flames, the house had sustained $40,000 – but there was no doubt Cuddles saved a lot more damage and possibly a few lives, including at least one of its own.

Family members will likely keep Cuddles around, especially in case a little boy ever gets stuck in a well.
