Despite vocal vows to turn things around after a mediocre start to the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs continued their losing ways, falling 3-1 to the Dallas Stars on Friday night.

Antti Miettinen’s tiebreaking goal late in the second period took the wind out of the Leafs’ sails, and when they did manage to produce a scoring chance Stars goaltender Marty Turco shut them down.

The Stars have now won four straight games.

Alexei Ponikarovsky scored Toronto’s only goal.
