Police are looking for suspects in two unconnected assaults after two separate stabbings occurred Saturday night.
Around 3am, five friends were walking near Queen and Spadina when they were attacked outside a McDonalds. It’s alleged that there were two suspects, armed with either a knife or a box cutter.
Three people were unscathed, but the other two weren’t so lucky, suffering deep slash wounds. One man was slashed in the face and chest, requiring 40 stitches. He has since been released from hospital.
The other man was hit in the chest and stomach. He remains in hospital.
Toronto Police are hoping store security cameras will help them in their investigation. Officers are canvassing the area for witnesses, clues and suspects.
Police are also empty-handed after an earlier attack in Scarborough.
Around 12:45am, a man was slashed in the side of the head outside a bus shelter. Details are scarce about his injuries and treatment, but he’s expected to be fine.
The attack occurred on Kennedy south of Eglinton at Merrian Road.
No word on suspects.
