Bullets Fly Near Finch And Keele But There Are No Victims Or Suspects

Police are still trying to figure out exactly what happened after a wild and dangerous incident at Finch and Sentinel Rd., near Keele St. Friday afternoon.

A bus driver called authorities around 12:30pm to tell them he saw a man pull out a gun and begin firing at another vehicle. It’s not clear if he hit his target, but the shooter then ran into his own car, with another man inside.

In their haste to get away, that vehicle crashed into a van, but the two men kept going. Cops are said to be seeking a silver-coloured Sebring seen fleeing the area and they may have a partial licence plate number.

They didn’t find any sign of a victim, but at least five shell casings were recovered on the ground (top left), mute testimony to the violence that occurred there just a few minutes earlier.

The innocent bystander involved in the crash was shaken up but otherwise unhurt.

Nearby St. Wilfrid Catholic School was placed on precaution, but a lockdown was not called.

There’s no word on what the motive for the gunfire might have been or who was being targeted.

Cops are said to be hunting two men described only as male, black, about 5’6″ tall.

Fortunately, it appears no one was hurt. But the armed men who so brazenly used the gun in broad daylight are still at large.
