Zellers Security Guard Stabbed By Suspected Shoplifter

A female security guard remains in serious but stable condition after suffering a stab wound while on the job Tuesday.
It happened around the dinner hour at the North York Sheridan Mall on Wilson Ave. near Jane.
“Security from Zellers was making an arrest regarding a shoplifter, the suspect was followed outside the store, approached by store security, a struggle ensued and as a result the suspect stabbed store security and then fled…” explained Sgt. Eric Dugan.
Police arrived and paramedics rushed the woman to the trauma unit at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
There’s no word yet on any arrests.
