Massive Garage Wall Causes Feud Between Neighbours

“When I walk out my back door, all I see is a big brick wall staring me in the face,” laments Dianne Green.

Her gripe is shared by the rest of her Downsview-area family, upset over what it says is a major eyesore bordering its property.

The brick wall is part of a garage built by a back neighbour, but they say it goes well above and beyond the reasonable dimensions of such a structure.

“Other people would come by and the first thing upon seeing this monstrosity their jaws would drop open,” adds Jeff Green.

The wall is more than 23 feet long and more than 18 feet high. The Greens say it was roughly half that size in the original plans.

There’s also the matter of a hedge that reportedly used to line the property, one the Greens say the garage owner was given permission to cut down in order to build the wall, but has since refused to replace.

CityNews made repeated attempts to contact the owners of the home with the wall in question, to no avail.

The Greens say City Hall is the next stop.

“I’m not convinced that the city has fulfilled it’s responsibility with respect to planning, zoning, by-laws, codes, etc.,” Jeff insists.

Take a look at the wall in the video below.
