Lots Of Rain Heading For Toronto, Environment Canada Issues Special Weather Statement

Hope you’ve got an umbrella, Toronto.

By the work day’s end Friday the skies were expected to have opened up in a return to the type of weather that has plagued the city for much of the summer.

A low pressure system heading for southern Ontario has caused Environment Canada to issue a special weather statement.

In brief: rain, and lots of it.

As much as 50 millimetres was predicted to fall on the city before Saturday morning.

And it’s not just us.

Hamilton is also affected by the warning, as are Halton Region, Peel Region, York Region, and Durham Region.

As for the temperature, we’ll see a high of just 22C.

It’s been an especially rainy and cool summer in the city,  and that’s going to last for much of the weekend.
