The City of Toronto announced Wednesday that Yonge and Bloor will become the second pedestrian priority intersection.
Starting on Friday, Oct. 9th, pedestrians will be allowed to cross in any direction, including diagonally.
In 2008, Yonge and Dundas became the first pedestrian priority intersection.
“Installing a pedestrian priority intersection at this new location reinforces Toronto’s commitment to creating a pedestrian friendly environment,” said Mayor David Miller.
“Giving priority to pedestrians promotes pedestrian safety and convenience, and helps renew our urban environment.”
