A ladybug-like infestation has swarmed the GTA.
The tiny, speckled insects have been seen everywhere from downtown Toronto all the way out to Brampton.
There are also reports of the bugs landing in the Niagara Peninsula.
Asian Ladybird beetles are experiencing a population boom, landing in clusters across the southern part of the province.
Scientists believe they’re just looking for a place to hibernate.
The beetles help control the spread of the soybean aphid, but a large aphid population in Toronto this year means a much higher than average number of Asian Ladybirds are searching for a warm place to spend the winter.
While they’re not harmful to people, they have been known to bite.
If you want them gone, don’t kill them with your bare hands (or the bottom of your boot) – the best way to rid your home of the pests is simply to vacuum them up.
