Fantino case postponed to February

A criminal allegation against OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino has been delayed until February.

The Crown says it wants more time to review new evidence relating to allegations that Fantino influenced or attempted to influence municipal officials.

Fantino is accused of telling the mayor and councillors in Caledonia not to attend activist Gary McHale’s rallies.

McHale has led a number of rallies to protest what he calls two-tier justice in the policing of the aboriginal occupation in the town south of Hamilton.
