1. (a) “Contest Period” starts at 12:00am on January 25th, 2010, up until 11:59 a.m. on January 31st, 2010, the “Contest Closing Date” to enter go to www.680news.com, sign up for the 680News Insider Club, for free by fully completing the entry ballot, then redeem 250 Credits and submit by the Contest Closing Date, for an entry into the Contest, if you already a member log onto your account and redeem 250 Credits for an entry into the Contest. All times are Eastern Times.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. To enter this Contest without redeeming 250 Credits during the Contest Period, please hand print your name, address, day and evening phone numbers, email address, age, Contest name for which you are entering for a chance to win, and a 100 word handwritten letter explaining why you want to win 4 Nights for two people in Atlantic City and mail it to 680 News, 777 Jarvis St., Toronto, Ontario, M4Y 3B7, Attention: WestJet Vacations. You will receive one (1) entry into the Contest during the entry period for which your request was postmarked and received, to be postmarked by the Contest Closing Date. Limit of one (1) mail-in request per postage stamped envelope per day.
(b) A random draw, by a Rogers Broadcasting Limited (“Rogers”) representative, as represented by 680News from all completed entries received as of the Contest Closing Date will be made on February 3rd, 2010 at approximately 9:00 a.m. at 680News offices at 777 Jarvis St., Toronto, Ontario. Selected entrants will be contacted via telephone number or email as indicated on the selected entrant’s member account/mail in entry.
(c) If a selected entrant cannot be reached by February 5th, 2010 or declines the prize, or fails to return a signed release and acknowledgment form as specified below, another entrant will be selected on February 8th, 2010 from all remaining eligible entries established.
d) In the event that a selected entrant incorrectly answers the skill testing question, another entrant will be selected on February 8th, 2010 from all remaining entries.
(e) You may enter as often as you like provided you redeem 250 Credits for each entry. If the identity of an entrant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The individual assigned to the e-mail address for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the selected entry. All entries must be submitted from a valid e-mail account that may be identified by reverse domain name search. The sole determinant of time for the purposes of receipt of a valid entry in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s).
2. No purchase, expenditure or investment is necessary to enter this Contest.
3. Participants are eligible to win one (1) of two (2) Grand Prizes;
For each Grand prize WestJet Vacations Inc. (“WVI”) will provide one WVI Package for two (2) people from Toronto, Ontario to Atlantic City including return economy airfare and four (4) night’s accommodation, based upon double occupancy (“Prize”). The Prize is subject to availability and can be used up to a maximum value of $1600 CAD, inclusive of fees, taxes and surcharges, this will be in the form of a travel certificate. If the cost of the package chosen by the winners exceeds the maximum value, any additional amounts owing are the responsibility of the winners and must be paid with a valid credit card at the time of booking. If the maximum value is not used, the excess amount will be forfeited.
The hotel accommodation excludes any mandatory service or incidental charges. A valid credit card will be required upon check in. Winners and his/her guest are responsible for transportation to and from the gateway airport and all other expenses not stated as included herein.
Prize is valid for travel until December 15, 2010 and cannot be booked more than 30 days in advance of departure. Changes and extensions to the expiry date are not permitted. Peak dates such as statutory holidays (long weekends) and airline black out periods (such as Christmas, Easter and spring break) are not available for this Prize. Prize is subject to availability of promotional space on the desired flight at the time of booking. WVI regular service may not apply to the above destination at all times of the year; WVI schedule may change without notice.
Prize must be taken as offered and is neither transferable nor redeemable for cash, credit or alternative prizes, except in WVI’s sole discretion. Prize cannot be sold and in the event that it is sold, the Prize will be void. WVI reserves the right to substitute the Prize with a prize of equal or greater value. No credit or reimbursement will be provided if Prize is not taken. Prize cannot be combined with any other promotional offer or offers provided by WVI.
Winners and his/her guest must travel on the same itinerary for both the outbound and inbound flights. No changes to travel dates or passenger names are permitted once a booking has been confirmed. Prize is governed by laws, regulations, international conventions, WVI’s tariffs and conditions of carriage. Other restrictions may apply.
Not included are gratuities. We recommend the purchase of medical, accident and baggage insurance. It is the responsibility of the prize winner and traveling companion to obtain and pay for the required identification document). Failing to provide the required documents may result in denied boarding by the air carrier. Rogers is not responsible in this respect and any unused portion of the trip prize will be forfeit. It is the prize winner’s responsibility to check with the airline for baggage restrictions. Winners and traveling companions must travel together on the same itinerary. Rogers reserves the right to change the air/hotel for whatever reason in the case of unavailability).
4. All prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be transferred or exchanged. Rogers reserves the right to substitute a prize of at least equal or greater value in the event of the unavailability, for whatever reason, of the advertised prize.
5. In order to win, selected entrants must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited, mathematical skill testing question, posed by telephone at a mutually convenient time. Roger’s judges’ rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to the Contest and the awarding of prizes.
6. Selected entrants will be required to return a signed release and acknowledgment form before being declared a winner. The traveling companions must also return a signed release and acknowledgment before being ticketed, once ticketed no changes are permitted.
7. By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the use of his/her entry, name, and city of residence and/or photograph in any publicity carried out by Rogers and/or its advertising agencies, without further compensation. Winners consents to their photograph being taken by Rogers for such use, without further compensation. All entries become the property of Rogers.
8. This Contest is open to residents of Ontario 19 years of age and over as of the date of entry, except employees of Rogers, its parent and affiliate companies; its representatives and agents, the Contest suppliers, and those with whom they are domiciled. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
9. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants.
10. Chances of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Rogers is unaware of how many entrants there may be. The winners may come from any geographic area, so long as they otherwise qualify to enter the Contest.
11. All entries which are incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of the rules may be disqualified by Rogers. Rogers takes no responsibility for lost, misdirected, late or destroyed entries, or for typographical or other production errors.
12. All entries become property of Rogers who assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for failure of the internet or Rogers network during the Contest Period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, cell sites, microwave dish, antenna, switch, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any communication or traffic congestion on the Rogers or other network, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s wireless device or personal computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading or sending any material in the Contest. Rogers reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel or suspend the online or email portion of this Contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of Rogers corrupt the security or proper administration of the Contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any equipment or system or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Rogers reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
13. Rogers is collecting personal data about entrants for the sole purpose of administering this Contest. 14. This Contest will be run in accordance with these rules and the rules of the 680News Insider Club, subject to amendment by Rogers. Entrants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules if they participate in the Contest.
15. The terms of this Contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.
