U.S. authorities stopped a flight bound for Dubai while getting ready for take off in New York, after reports indicated a passenger on board was on the “no fly” list.
Emirates flight 204 was on the taxiway at JFK Airport when Department of Homeland Security vehicles started to approach the plane, and the flight tower was notified that the aircraft would be returning to the gate.
After a 90 minute delay, officials declared it was a false match, and called it a non issue. The flight was then cleared for take off.
The incident came only days after a failed bomb attack on New York’s Time Square heightened security concerns in the U.S.’ most populous city.
