YouTube celebrates its 5th anniversary

It has provided 15-minutes of fame to millions and, Monday, YouTube celebrated five years of existence.
The popular website reports approximately two billion visitors every single day.
Small town Ontario teen singing sensation Justin Bieber can thank YouTube for his international fame, as well British sensation Lily Allen.
Both began their music career using the popular site to showcase their musical talent.
William Hung also achieved a cult-line fame after his American Idol audition was posted on YouTube.
Lady Gaga also got some viral help when the video for her hit song Bad Romance achieved the notoriety of having received the most hits than any other video on the website.
But it is not just musicians who are reaping the benefits of YouTube.
Many web surfers use the site to learn new skills such as how to play an instrument, dance, mix martinis, tie a tie, play video games, fix a dishwasher and even cook.
Food Network bad girl chef Nadia G used YouTube, as well as other online sites, to gain popularity with her cooking webisodes.
And one couple, whose wedding party danced their way down the aisle, became an internet sensation and were quickly booked on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Their routine was also copied on the Jim and Pam wedding episode of “The Office.”
