Russia defeated Canada 5-2 in today’s quarter-final hockey game in Germany.
Evgeni Malkin scored twice for Russia while Maxim Afinogenov, Pavel Datsyuk and Sergei Fedorov added singles.
John Tavares and Matt Duchene scored for Canada.
Canada entered as a heavy underdog against the two-time defending champions.
Russia has 14 Olympians on its roster while Canada has just one.
