12 year old Ajax boy caught with loaded handgun

AJAX, Ont – Durham Regional Police have laid 19 charges against a 12 year old Ajax boy after he was caught with a loaded handgun.
Police said an officer seized the weapon on Thursday, while investigators confirm the child was involved in a grocery store robbery only the day before.
Concerned residents alerted the police about the boy’s behaviour. Soon after, an officer caught up with the boy, who jumped off his bicycle, and subsequently reached into the waistband of his pants, withdrawing a firearm.
When the officer drew out his own firearm and ordered the boy to put his hands up, he allegedly threw the loaded .38 calibre gun over a fence instead, enabling the police to arrest him without incident.
