BRAMPTON – A four year old girl is in critical condition in hospital after she was pulled from the bottom of a backyard pool with no vital signs.
Peel Regional Police told 680News that officers and paramedics responded to a 911 call from a home on Creditview Road, north of Queen, at 4:45 p.m. Thursday.
Rescuers performed CPR for some time before ambulance officials arrived. They took over, and continued efforts to resuscitate her en route to hospital.
Peel Constable J.P. Valade told 680News they are unsure of how long the girl was in the water before she was rescued, although originally police believed she may have been underwater up to 15 minutes.
“That’s something we’re looking into. I’m hoping that the investigators will be able to get more information about how long she was submerged, from the people that are being interviewed”.
Constable Valade added that police do not know if the girl’s family or friends of the family own the Creditview Road home.
This is the second time such an incident has occurred in the past week. Last week, a toddler in Kitchener died after being pulled from a pool.
