TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have now released a man taken into custody for questioning, after he matched the description of a suspect involved in an attempted abduction outside a public school in the Beach.
A 7-year-old boy was waiting for his mother Wednesday afternoon outside Williamson Road Junior Public School, at Williamson Road and Hambly Avenue, when he says a man grabbed him, threw him over his shoulder and began carrying him away.
The boy managed to squirm free and run for help.
Although there were no witnesses to the attempted abduction, a resident did see a man matching the suspect’s description running from the area.
Police arrested the suspect not far from the school.
Police told 680News no charges have been laid yet as they continue to investigate the incident.
