Weekend Road Closures

It’s summer in Toronto and that can only mean one thing: road closures.
Whether it’s a walk, run, or city crews doing much-needed repairs, count on one or more major arteries being shut down nearly every weekend.
Here’s what’s on deck for May 29-30:
Malvern Bicycle Race – May 29
The northbound lanes of Neilson Road, from Sheppard Avenue to Sewells Road, will be closed from 7am to 4pm.
Walk for Israel – May 30
A number of partial closures will take place from 6am to 3pm. The roads affected will be in the area bounded by Strachan Avenue in the west, Queen’s Quay in the south, Simcoe Street in the east and Wellington Street to the north.
World Partnership Walk – May 30
The formation and dispersal area for the parade will be at Metro Hall, 55 John St. University Avenue from Wellington Street to Queen’s Park Circle will be shut down between 11am and 2pm, and a number of partial and full closures will take place affecting King Street and Simcoe Street during the same time.
Kensington Market Pedestrian Sundays – May 30
Parts of Augusta Avenue, Baldwin Street and Kensington Avenue will be closed from noon to 10pm.
Criterium Bike Race – May 30
Some streets will be closed between 6am and 4pm. The course will start and finish along Front Street East (just in front of 39 Front St. E.). The racers will go left onto Scott Street, turn left onto the Esplanade, turn left onto Market Street and then turn left back onto Front Street.
