Scientist Stephen Hawking visits Waterloo

WATERLOO, Ont. – Celebrity scientist Stephen Hawking will be spending the next six weeks in Waterloo, Ont.
Hawking is at Waterloo’s Perimeter Institute for the Theoretical Physics to assist on research on topics such as the origin of the universe.
The man of science will also be taking time to view the Waterloo scenery. The Globe and Mail reported Hawking has been spotted out and about around the area, visiting the St. Jacobs farmers market and at local parks.
Dr. Hawking will deliver a televised lecture later in June. The lecture will be broadcast on June 20 at 8 p.m. ET on TVO.
Notable contribution to science includes the theoretical prediction that black holes should emit radiation, known as Hawking radiation.
