Rogers To Launch New Wireless Service, chatr

Rogers Communications Inc. confirmed the introduction of a brand new, discount wireless service to be rolled out this summer. “chatr” will be available alongside Rogers Wireless and Fido on the Rogers network.
chatr will offer voice and text only, and unlimited pricing options without term contracts within defined chatr zones.
chatr joins the discount wireless market which includes upstart like Wind Mobile, Mobilicity and Public Mobile.
“We’ve been watching this niche but growing category closely and it’s clear that some Canadians want to use their handsets for voice and text only but want a network they can trust,” said John Boynton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Rogers Communications.
chatr’s official launch date is expected later this summer.
