Officers confirmed that Leo Mol’s “The Bather” was spotted by a local resident Thursday morning in a back alley. The finder immediately called police.

Worth a total of $18,000, the statue was stolen earlier this week from the garden in Assiniboine Park.

A sculpture Mol created for the Queen’s visit to Manitoba in 1970 will be moved to a park at a government house.

Queen Elizabeth will unveil it when she visits the city on Saturday.
