Mammoliti Leaving Mayor Race: Report

Giorgio Mammoliti is leaving the race for mayor, the Toronto Sun reported.
A source close to the campaign told the newspaper that Mammoliti will make the official announcement on Monday.
Mammoliti himself has not confirmed the news. However, he said in a written statement that Monday’s announcement would “alter the landscape of the 2010 municipal election.”
He entered the mayoral race on January 5, filing the necessary paperwork at City Hall. His campaign included eliminating property tax for low-income seniors and arming by-law officers.
Mammoliti has consistently finished last in opinion polls behind other candidates, including George Smitherman, Rob Ford, and Joe Pantalone.
