Explosion & Fire Guts Markham Home

The fire marshal is investigating a late night explosion that gutted a Markham home.
Firefighters worked from the ground and the air to contain the blaze just after midnight Tuesday. An explosion was heard just before the flames broke out inside the home on Morning Dove Drive, near Bur Oak and 16th Avenue.
A detailed damage estimate isn’t available yet, but the home is a write-off as only a shell remains. Houses on either side also suffered damage.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
