Waiting Game In The Gulf

It’s now a waiting game in the Gulf of Mexico.
British Petroleum announced Thursday it had successfully capped a gushing oil well for the first time since April.
Since the Deepwater Horizon rig blew, killing 11 workers, nearly 700 million litres of crude of spewed into the Gulf.
Pressure readings are being taken every six hours to monitor the cap. A drop in pressure might mean that oil is leaking elsewhere – perhaps in piping below the wellhead, or into the sea floor itself.
Commercial fishermen say even if the cap works, it’s going to be a long time before the Gulf region recovers.
