Woman Survives Fall From Balcony, Suspect Released

A 27-year-old woman is in a Toronto hospital in stable condition after surviving an 11-storey fall from an apartment balcony.

The Special Investigations Unit says the woman has serious head injuries and is in stable condition at Sunnybrook hospital.

She reportedly landed on a satellite dish.

Officers called to a building near Highway 401 and the Don ValleyParkway forced open a door on the 11th floor.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries to his hand and ribs after an “interaction” with police, and has since been released.

Police would not discuss charges because the case is in the hands of the SIU.
