Conrad Black Drops Request To Return To Canada

Conrad Black has given up the effort to return to his home in Toronto while he’s free on bail.
The former media mogul has dropped his request as he awaits an appeal of his fraud convictions in Chicago.
Black was scheduled to appear before Judge Amy St. Eve this month, but that hearing has been pushed back to September 16.
He was released on $2 million bail late last month after serving two and a half years in a Florida prison.
Black gave up his Canadian citizenship to become a member of the British House of Lords.
He was convicted of defrauding Hollinger Inc. of more than $6 million and sentenced to six and a half years in prison. He was also found guilty of obstruction of justice after he removed documents related to the investigation from his Toronto offices.
