Lane restrictions on Gardiner expected until 2011

If you were one of the many drivers affected by the closure of the Gardiner Expressway over the weekend, brace yourself.
Work on bridges along the highway is expected to continue until late 2011.
The Lake Shore and Jameson Ave. bridge rehabilitation project is underway and is scheduled until Dec. 17.
Two bridges have been demolished and another one is still scheduled to be taken down.
The work is being sped up with the hope that the construction crews are able to build new bridges by next summer.
Meanwhile, the Gardiner will be completely closed on the weekends of Sept. 18 and Oct. 2.
