The OPP dive team has recovered the bodies of two teens that went missing in cottage country Sunday afternoon when their canoes capsized on Huntsville’s Skeleton Lake.
Police say the bodies of Joseph Silva and Brodie Williamson, both 18, were found not far from their boats. Both are from St. Catharines.
They, along with another friend, are said to have gone out on an early morning canoe ride where they got into trouble due to strong winds and rough waters.
One of the teens managed to make it back to land and call 911 for help.
Police report none of them were wearing life jackets. Police are reminding people of the importance of boating and water safety.
