Rob Ford Seen As Most Trustworthy Candidate

Another day, another poll, another round of good news for Rob Ford and his supporters.
A Nanos Research survey found that 28.6 per cent of decided voters saw Ford as the most trustworthy candidate.
The poll was commissioned by CTV and the Globe and Mail.
George Smitherman garnered 13.6 per cent support; Joe Pantalone, 12.9 per cent; Rocco Rossi, 7.2 per cent; and Sarah Thomson, 5.1 per cent. Undecided voters made up 32.5 per cent of those polled.
“I have a proven character that has been successful in business – I employ 250 people. I’m a high school football coach, bring kids out of gangs and get ’em out of jail, get ’em an education, get ’em scholarships,” Ford said.
“It looks like this election is in Rob Ford’s back pocket,” said Nelson Wisemen, a political science professor at the University of Toronto.
“He might implode, he might self-immolate between now and then. One of the reasons he’s not being more forthcoming with the media is precisely because of that,” Wiseman added.
“People don’t want to see people mud-sling,” Ford countered.
“They want to hear concrete plans.”
Even Premier Dalton McGuinty weighed in on Toronto’s mayoral race. He said he’s not concerned that support for Ford could translate to Conservatives winning provincial seats in Toronto.
But Progressive Conservative Leader Tim Hudak says people are looking for a change from tax-and-spend governments.
