Highway 400 re-opens following northbound crash

TORONTO, Ont. – The northbound lanes of Highway 400 have been re-opened after it was turned into a virtual parking lot following a truck rollover.
Just before 1 p.m. Friday, a dump truck rolled down an embankment and into a ditch.
OPP Const. Graham Williamson said an air ambulance was brought to the scene, but paramedics determined the 42 year old driver could be transported to hospital by ground ambulance. He remains in hospital Friday evening.
He added that a small fuel spill was contained.
Northbound traffic was diverted off the highway at Teston Road.
To add to the woes, Williamson said southbound traffic on Highway 400 was being slowed by drivers gawking at the accident and a collision near Major MacKenzie Drive.
The driver’s name has not been released, but police said he is a Brampton resident.
No other vehicles were involved, but the collision is currently under investigation.
