Mihevic to change his vote in municipal election

TORONTO, Ont. – A respected member of city council’s left wing has turned his back on colleague Joe Pantalone, and now plans to endorse George Smitherman for mayor, all in a bid to stop Rob Ford from becoming the city’s leading man.

The Toronto Star reported that Joe Mihevic is urging Torontonians to employ strategic voting and rally around one single candidate who has the best chance of beating Ford.

Although the veteran ward 21 St. Paul’s councillor said he struggled with his decision, he claims his desire to stop Ford is the stronger force.

However, he said he still believes Pantalone is the best man to be mayor because of his skills, smarts and experience.

The message was sent out in a mass email on Tuesday entitled “Anybody but Ford”.
