Cattle Truck Flips, Closes Highway 401

A section of Highway 401 has been shut down as a transport truck hauling cattle flipped over Saturday afternoon.
OPP say the truck was headed westbound when it crashed near Keele St.
The transfer lanes from the 401 express to the collectors have been blocked west of Keele St. but one lane of the collectors is getting through.
The Toronto Humane Society has sent veterinarians to the scene to tend to the cows.
At this point, it looks like many of the cattle are injured. It’s not clear how severe the injuries are.
Police say the highway is expected to be closed until 5pm.
An empty trailer is being brought in to load the cattle and get them off the damaged truck. None of the cows managed to escape.
