Slippery Conditions, Frigid Temperatures

The key word for anyone heading outside Monday? Layering.
Environment Canada predicted a low of -15 C – a bone-chilling -26 C with the wind chill. Check the forecast here.
The City of Toronto issued an extreme cold weather alert Monday afternoon. This means the there will be 70 more beds in shelters and providing additional resources for the city’s homeless. If you spot anyone on the streets in distress, call 311.
A flash freeze warning issued by Environment Canada ended Sunday evening, but conditions are still very slick.
Sunday’s rain and snow and a quick drop in temperature created very slippery driving conditions across the GTA and surrounding areas during the Monday morning commute. Police were called to the eastbound 401 near Highway 6 just after 5am after a tractor-trailer jackknifed on the highway.
