Man Falls To His Death From 427 Overpass

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is looking into an incident early Thursday morning which ended with a man falling to his death from a Highway 427 overpass.

Around 4am, a cab driver on the southbound 427 called police saying he was concerned about his passenger. Officers arrived, spoke with the man, and left.

A short distance away, the cabbie stopped again and called police to come back. The passenger got out of the taxi, and as officers reached the area and approached him, he fell over the guardrail at the Gardiner Expressway.

Both the 427 and the ramp to the eastbound Gardiner were shut down for several hours.
