A blackout has left hundreds of residents at a North York apartment complex without heat or hydro in the middle of winter.
Around 2pm Thursday, the main power switch at 31 St. Dennis Dr. malfunctioned, cutting power to another building in the complex, number 35. An electrician attempted to repair the switch, but failed.
Residents sought shelter on TTC buses while the property owners made arrangements to get them back into their units or into other accommodations.
The owners ordered a generator to bring back electricity temporarily, which they said should arrive late Thursday or early Friday.
